From the 2026 season onwards, all new UniPlus destoners will feature a redesigned star shaft system, allowing the first four rows of star shafts to drop out from the bottom of the machine. Previously, the shafts were removed from the side — a process that, while effective, required more time and effort. The new bottom-drop configuration will significantly reduce maintenance time, simplifying access and speeding up the process for operators.
This development reflects Standen’s ongoing commitment to practical innovation and operator convenience, ensuring that its machines not only perform at the highest level but are also straightforward to service.
While the Standen star system is already proven to last up to three times longer than competitor alternatives, even the most durable components eventually require replacement. This new feature makes that process far simpler, minimising downtime and ensuring the UniPlus remains as efficient and cost-effective as possible throughout its working life.
“Our focus is always on improving usability and lowering total cost of ownership for our customers,” said Edward Gilbert, Sales Director at Standen Engineering. “By redesigning the way the star shafts can be removed, we’ve made essential maintenance quicker, easier, and safer — all while maintaining the proven reliability and longevity that UniPlus users expect.”
With this upgrade, the 2026 UniPlus reinforces Standen’s reputation for British engineering excellence, robust design, and customer-focused innovation.
